Transformative Wellness E-Newsletter:

March 2006:

Something in the air feels lighter. Something in the people feels brighter there are many smiles, twinkling eyes and a hope of something greater in the future . When the sun shines everything seems easier life and it's unfolding layers. Regardless at every moment there is a choice to trust in positivity soon to arrive or to breed the struggle with unkindness. Whatever we put out will return! At that moment of choice, choose the power of love before the love of power so we may cradle each other in growth, peace, and generosity.

Recipe of the Month:

Sjouk’s Simple Sauté Spinach dish

1bunch or bag of fresh spinach
1 tbsp olive oil
1 garlic clove freshly chopped
1 lemon
¼ cup raw or roasted almonds sliced

Sauté garlic and oil until garlic is fragrant.  Add spinach (it will reduce hugely in volume) and sauté until leaves wilt.  Garnish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and chopped almonds.

Benefits are numerous and incredibly delicious.  Spinach gently sautéed (not boiled) keep the most of the nutritional benefits.  High in chlorophyll and iron content builds the blood in Chinese medicine.  Its sulfur content helps relive herpes irritation. Abundant vitamin A diminishes symptoms of night blindness.  Its cooling nature cleanses the blood of toxins that cause skin disease and discharge marked by redness and inflammation.  Builds the blood and stops bleeding (esp. nosebleeds); diuretic; laxative; useful in the treatment of diabetic dryness and thirst.
