Summer time and living easy! Solstice is near, how amazing it is
to be blessed with so much light in the day. The time of the year
to finish seeding the garden, seeding any new projects and finally
stepping up to whatever it is that you want to achieve for the present
time and the future harvest. Take the suns rays and lather yourself
in the wonderful nourishment that it provides and keep walking your
walk.

Pose of the Month: Standing Splits
aka Urdhva Prasarita Ekapadasana
1. Start in Tadasana
2. Exhalation hinge at the hips and fold into uttanasa, forward
fold.
3. Possibly at the same time as #2 raise the left leg towards the
sky while keep the hips square to the floor.
4. Lift the leg as high up as possible, gaze at the toes on the
ground and hold the right ankle with the left hand. Right hand is
beside the right foot on the ground.
5. Stay for 7-10 breaths and return to forward fold (uttanasana),
inhale the arm up and back to Tadasana (mountain pose).
Benefits:
Lengthens the back of the thighs and strengthens and tones the legs.
Improves balance.

Recipe
of the Month:
Welcoming Summer Celebration Smoothie:
1cup almond milk (may use soy milk, rice milk, regular milk)
½ cup frozen (use fresh if available) berries
(ex. black/blueberries + raspberries)
½ banana
2 tblsp flax oil
1 tblsp greens (greens plus, or whatever brand you have)
Blend all ingredients together, preferred with the hand blender
it’s less messy. Eat the incredible tasty goodness on the
go or as a desert.
Benefits: Berries are really high in vitamins
and fruit has natural cleansing properties. It is a great way to
boost the energy levels naturally and also rehydrate bodily fluids.
