Yoga
schedule is as follows. If you know someone that doesn't have
this new schedule, please pass the information on:
Mondays- 3:45-4:45pm 6:30-7:30pm
Tuesdays- 1:00-2:00pm 6:15-7:15pm
Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm
Fridays 3:45-4:45pm 6:30-7:30pm

I thank everyone for sharing your thoughts, ideas, and experiences
in the weekend workshop. It is truly wonderful to be a part of each
other’s journeys. This workshop and the weekly classes have
been incredible to watch and see the changes some subtly and some
drastically that are occurring in everyone’s yoga practice.

We will be holding a one day workshop in March. Moving deeper into
the postures Feeling it at a cellar level using various pranayama
(breathing techniques) adding the philosophy of yoga will be the
primary focus.

Pose of the month:
Chaturanga Dandasana / Plank
Method:
1) Lie on the floor face downwards.
2) Bend the elbows squeezing them by the sides of the body, palms
under the shoulders.
3) Feet are shoulder width apart.
4) With an exhalation, raise the whole body above the floor, straightening
the arms.
5) Balancing on hands and toes, body is parallel to the floor. Keep
the body aligned and strong.
Modification is to bend at the knees, resting knees on the floor
and the upper body is lifted as shown above.
Benefits:
*contracts and tones the abdominal organs and musculature
*strengthens arms and joints of the arms, chest and upper back

Recipe
of the Month:
Eliza’s Double Pea and Almond Tofu Surprise Stir-Fry
2tbsp sesame oil
1 pack of firm tofu drained and roughly chopped
1cup almonds
30 grams butter
2 cloves, crushed garlic
2 red Thai chilli’s (seeded, chopped finely)
2 tsp. grated ginger
400 grams sugar snap peas trimmed
400 gram snow peas trimmed
1 whole red pepper sliced length wise
¼ cup chilli sauce + 2 tbsp. of honey
1. Heat ½ of the oil in wok or large frying pan, stir-fry
tofu and nuts in batches until tofu is brown lightly.
2. Heat remaining oil and butter in wok. Stir-fry garlic, chilli,
and ginger until mixture is fragrant.
3. Add peas and red pepper to wok, stir-fry until just tender.
4. Return tofu and nuts to wok with sauce, stir-fry, tossing two
combined ingredients.
Health tip: Almonds are the only nut to alkalize
the blood; all other acidify.
