Embarking on a time for R&R.  Holidays, Family, giving, travel, love….ah, the natural tendencies of this time of the year.  Today I received Christmas cards, gifts and it’s not even the 25th.  Everyone seems to be having a good time, satisfied and being generous. 

The quote above was given to me in one of my cards and I am continuously inspired by its idea of our never ending POTENTIAL.  The fact that every day we can smile more than the last, be kinder than the day before, and to seek deeper into our truth. The willingness for each one of us to grow and collectively increase the consciousness of our actions will incur a positive domino effect touching our communities, countries, and planet.

Thanks to everyone around me for your support and faith in me.  Also thanks for allowing me to learn so much from you!

Pose of the Month:

Russian Splits:

Effects: 

This pose is recommended after a wonderful hip opening sequence.

Method:

  1. Starting from tadasana/ Mountain pose.  Lift right knee up and step back one leg length. 
  2. Both feet are parallel and then fold into Prasarita padottanasana/ Wide leg forward fold  with hands on the ankles or feet for 7 breaths.
  3. Return into a lengthy spinal extension and then heal toe the feet away from each other keeping the whole foot plugged into the earth. 
  4. The arms open to give space for the heart and touch the ground with the chin on the earth and palms open. 

Modification:

Hands will stay on the ground and if you need to move deeper bring the elbows to the earth until eventually the arms open up.

Recipe of the Month:

Celine's Cottage Cheese Apple Pancakes

Ingredients (preferably organic because it tastes better):

2 small apples, chopped
1/2 cup small-curd cottage cheese
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp maple syrup
1/2tsp salt
1/2cup White spelt flour (brown, wheat)
1 tsp baking powder

1 tbsp butter or oil for cooking

Method

  1. Peel and core apple. Mix cheese, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, syrup and salt.
  2. Add dry ingredients. Mix together.
  3. Spoon small amounts in pan at medium heat.
  4. Served with fresh maple syrup.
