Setu Bandha / Bridge
Opening the heart for love and compassion with Setu Bandha.
Method:
1. Lie on your back, bend knees toward buttocks.
2. Measure distance, with straight arms by your side draw heals towards
fingers.
3. Bring the weight and strength into your legs, imagine a ball being
squeezed between the thighs.
4. Now draw the torso in line with the knees and shoulders.
5. Roll the shoulders under and bind your hands, pressing small finger
into the ground.
6. Heart lift toward the chin while the legs stay in their power.
Benefits:
* realigns and increases spinal strength
* massages and stretches colon and abdominal organs
* tones female reproductive organs (recommended for tendency to miscarriage)
* stimulate thyroid gland therefore benefiting metabolism
Christmas sweetness Banana yogurt Cake
1 ¾ cups flour (spelt-white, unbleached wheat, rice)
¼ cup of whole grain mix (oats,rye,quinoa, rice ect.)
1 tsp backing soda
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
½ cup apple sauce
1 cup mashed banana
2/3 cup plain yogurt.
Mix the dry ingredients. Beat eggs and sugar until frothy and add to
the dry ingredients. Stir the applesauce and mashed bananas and add to
the mixture. Loosely stir in the yogurt. Bake at 350 degrees for 30min.
Baked in 2 loaf pan or 13X9 baking pan.
Result is a sticky topped moist loaf that is a nice alternative to the
rich and heavy Christmas season.
